In-depth Training of Malaysia Nurse in Sichuan Province—Ya'an People's Hospital

On 12th March, Amrru completed one week training course in Shifang Burns Hospital and hurry to another city which is the homeland of giant panda Ya'an. Ya'an People's Hospital is a third grade class A hospital. A integral office and inpatient building was constructing now. Amrru will have a training course in the Burn Department of the hospital which is also one of the base hospitals of Chinese Burn Association of the Integration of Traditional and Western Medicine (CBAIM). Doctors of Burn Department are experienced with MEBT/MEBO. The department has good reputation in the west area of Sichuan Province due to application of MEBT/MEBO. Amrru will have two weeks training courses in Burn Department to systemically study the standard procedure of MEBT/MEBO in multi-subjects and areas.
In the afternoon, guided with Professor FU Zi-jun, Director of Burn Department they paid a visit to the burn unit. A total of 10 patients including various degrees and depths burn, scald injuries, diabetic foot ulcers and bedsores were admitted to the hospital.

On 13th March, with the dressing change experience of Shifang Burns Hospital, Amrru began her dressing change procedure under the supervision of nurses on the second day of training. In order to learn a systemic standard dressing change procedure, Director FU arranged Amrru to focus on a newly admitted patient with combined second and third degree burn. Thus Amrru can witness the recovery process of wound under the magical effects of MEBT/MEBO.

In the next following days, Amrru not only deepened the impression of the standard dressing change procedure of MEBT/MEBO on burn wound through practice but also learned standard management of MEBT/MEBO in other wounds and start to change dressing as well.

Patients wound improved dramatically with one week's dressing change and Amrru also felt delighted for being involved in helping those patients. On 19th March, a patient with deep burn transferred into Burn Department. He got wound infection after receiving conventional dry therapy in the other hospital. Doctors in Burn Department removed the eschar formed on the wound and smeared MEBO on the wound immediately to protect the wound. Amrru also took part into the treatment. She changed dressing for the patient everyday very carefully and gently since infected wound would be very painful during dressing change procedure.

During two weeks'training, Amrru's skills improved a lot. She also had an in depth understanding about the standard of MEBT/MEBO in treating different wounds. She learned the systemic and comprehensive procedure of early wound management, blister management, skin incision and tension relieving, necrotic tissue thinning technique and late stage wound management as well as bed sore etc through practice.

On 22 March, Amrru attended the training course of up to date progress of wound care in Mingshan County with Professor HU and Director QIU. After the training, Professor HU awarded Amrru the certificate of CBAIM which proved that she had successfully finished the training course. We believe that the MEBT/MEBO will be promoted and popularized to benefit more and more Malaysian after the training course.
