MEBO–NBA Sacramento Kings Youth Basketball Exchange Tips Off in Jinan, China

On July 6, 2025, the MEBO–NBA Sacramento Kings International Youth Basketball Cultural Exchange officially launched at Licheng No. 2 Middle School Gymnasium in Jinan, China. The event opened with vibrant performances from student cheerleaders and electrifying street dance routines, setting an energetic tone for the day.

Global Leaders and Local Enthusiasm Collide

Distinguished guests attended the ceremony, including Li Yanfeng of the Shandong Foreign Affairs Office; Zhang Juzhong, Deputy Director of the Jinan Sports Bureau; and top executives from the Sacramento Kings, including President of Business Operations John Rinehart and VPs Maurice Brazelton and Maritza Davis. MEBO Group President Yang Zhibin and VP Liu Gang also joined the celebration.

“This trip is about more than basketball,” Rinehart stated. “It’s about learning from one another and embracing the power of unity and connection.” Yang Zhibin added, “Basketball is a global language that transcends borders and brings hearts together.”

Elite NBA Coaching Meets Aspiring Youth

Kings coaching staff led world-class training sessions for 120 young players, offering hands-on NBA-level instruction. The program blends athletic training with cultural exchange, empowering youth through teamwork, perseverance, and cross-border connection.

A Legacy of U.S.–China Sports Diplomacy

Co-hosted by the Shandong Foreign Affairs Office, Sacramento City China Office, Jinan Sports Bureau, NBA Kings, and MEBO Group, this event marks another milestone in the long-term strategic partnership between MEBO Group and the Sacramento Kings, which began in 2018.
