The National Clinical Application of Regenerative Cloning Skin and Tissue Technology by Somatic Cells Transferring into Stem Cells in Situ

From 22nd to 20th May 2010, with the approval of the Chinese Association of the Integrity of Traditional and Chinese Medicine, the 11th Chinese Congress of Burns, Wounds and Ulcers Regenerative Medicine is hosted in the China Hall of Science and Technology in Beijing by the Chinese Burn Association of the Integrity of Traditional and Western Medicine (CBAIM). In the meeting the participants from all the China made the academic exchanges on the research achievements of the regenerative cloning skin and tissue technology by somatic cells transferring into stem cells in situ, which was our original technology. And further more, 20 recovery stars with burns, wound defects, broken fingers, diabetic ulcers and artery ulcer on lower limbs were assessed by the judging team composed by over 180 domestic experts and 13 international clinical experts from Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. All the recovery stars stood on the platform and showed all the participants their regenerative restoration results while no body could imagine before the regenerative therapy they were all injured all over the body with defects. And that fully revealed the advanced achievements of regenerative cloning skin and tissue technology by somatic cells transferring into stem cells in situ. More over, the international clinical experts also introduced their own clinical experience of using the regenerative cloning skin and tissue technology by somatic cells transferring into stem cells in situ in treating patients with burns and wounds.

Clinical Practice and Inspection Results

At the opening ceremony, the burn patient Chen Shangfeng with TBSA of 89% successfully treated by Mr. Xu Xingnan from Haihe Health Clinic of Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province with regenerative cloning skin and tissue technology by somatic cells transferring into stem cells in situ,under common medical conditions and with common medical equipment was chosen out as the recovery star and he gave his sincere talks to express his thanks to the medical staff who saved his life and meanwhile he appealed all the chosen recovery star in this congress to Prof. Xu Rongxiang, the creator of the regenerative cloning skin and tissue technology by somatic cells transferring into stem cells in situ to show their deep appreciation. The congress was put into the climax with the strong applause.

Prof. Luo Chengqun from the 3rd Hospital of Xiangya City Hunan province said in his speech: “during the first year after the launch of this technology, our hospital used regenerative cloning skin and tissue technology by somatic cells transferring into stem cells in situ in treating exposed bone wounds to validate the effectiveness. And at present in our hospital this technology is generally used in treating big deep burns and diabetic ulcers. All the patients are treated successfully with less pain, less disability and less costs.” Prof. Zhao Xianzhong from the 3rd Affiliated Hospital of Nantong Medical College said that his hospital has used this technology successfully in treating over 1500 cases of big deep burns, diabetic ulcers, bedsores and veins ulcers of lower limbs with almost no disability and more over with less costs to lessen the patients’ financial burden.

Director Zhou Deyue from the Burns Hospital of Sichuan Province brought with his two patients with broken fingers treated by the regenerative cloning skin and tissue technology by somatic cells transferring into stem cells in situ in his hospital. And the two patients were chosen as the recovery stars. With good clinical treatment results the recovery conditions were highly appraised by all the participants of home and abroad experts.

Clinical Application and General Approval

In the meeting, the director Prof. Xiao Mo of the CBAIM introduced that the regenerative cloning skin and tissue technology by somatic cells transferring into stem cells in situ was created after Prof. Xu’s creation of burns moist therapy. Prof. Xu got the principles of regenerative cloning skin and tissue technology by somatic cells transferring into stem cells in situ and then established the more detailed clinical management technology of stem cells culture for skin regeneration. In 1989 this technology got the national promotion and up until now there are generally over 43 million patients from home and abroad successfully treated by this technology.

Prof. Zhang Xiangqing, Deputy Chief-editor of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers and senior burns expert of No.139 Hospital of the PLA said that according to the research data, before Prof. Xu published his creation - the regenerative cloning skin and tissue technology by somatic cells transferring into stem cells in situ there was no such concept in the world. And further more there is no report on the relevant research achievement and clinical application. At present in the world life science field stem cell research has developed into somatic cells transferring into stem cells from embryonic research while in China we have thoroughly put the regenerative cloning skin and tissue technology by somatic cells transferring into stem cells in situ into full application in clinic. It is exciting and also indicating the growing up speed of Chinese life science.

And since 1989 the birth of the Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers hosted by the Chinese Physicians Association, there have been 2200 papers published on regenerative cloning skin and tissue technology by somatic cells transferring into stem cells in situ in treating burns, wounds and broken fingers written by scholars from home and abroad. In 2000, the CBAIM published the Blue Book of Burns Treatment Therapy. The book issued the research report of the regenerative cloning skin and tissue technology by somatic cells transferring into stem cells in situ and more in detail published the standards of clinical application.

According to the data, it shows that in 1988 the Chinese Association of the Integrity of Traditional and Western Medicine hosted the 1st Chinese Congress of Burns Wounds and Ulcers Regenerative Medicine and then in 1989 the relevant sections specially established the Burns and Wounds Science Technology Medical Center to form burns and wounds medical technology rescue network with hospitals to resolve national problems in treating patients with burns and wounds. In 1990 in Thailand there happened the terrible explosion and the Thai government turned to our government for help. And our government sent Prof. Xu Rongxiang and his rescue medical team to rescue the injured in Thailand. With Prof. Xu’s rescue team great efforts, the treated patients were rescued with fine restoration without any disability. In the meeting between the King of Thailand and Deputy Commissioner Liao Hansheng of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee at that time, the Thai Kind expressed his great appreciation to Chinese government and Chinese people. Up until now, the regenerative cloning skin and tissue technology by somatic cells transferring into stem cells in situ created by our Chinese scientist Prof. Xu Rongxiang has greatly accepted by large numbers of clinic experts and patients. And annually over 350 thousand cases of burn patients were successfully treated by this technology. In recent years, there are already more than 40 countries having introduced this technology applied it to treat patients with burns and wounds.
