Medical Promotion and Development in Indonesia into the Fast Lane
From 1st to 12th March, the new round of 2010 medical promotion began in eight cities and provinces of Indonesia. General Manager Ms. Sun Xia of MEBO Group International Department accompanied with Regional GM Mr. Jia Jinghao paid a business visit to Indonesia for a field inspection. At the same time, Prof. Chen Yongchong was busy with medical promotion efforts of tour burns regenerative medicine speeches and trainings, academic exchanges and clinical consultation for burns patients in Indonesian local hospitals, and discussions on building burns ulcers healing centers with the presidents of those hospitals. During the period of 12 days, it was successfully held 2 provincial, 5 municipal and 3 hospital levels training programs in total. There were 556 clinicians and nurses from Divisions of Burns, Surgery & Plastic, General Surgery, Dermatology, Orthopedics, and Obstetrics&Gynecology, and 69 medical representatives from Distributor Company attending these training. There were totally 3 big governmental teaching hospitals, 4 private hospitals and 1 company affiliated hospital. And Prof. Chen attended the medical consultation for one case of extensive burns child and nice clinical results had been received.
From 2008 to 2010, with the persevere efforts of MEBO sales team on Indonesian medical promotion, at present over 90% local burns clinicians have learnt or known burns regenerative medicine and therapy and MEBO ointment; over 50% burns clinicians are using or trying burns regenerative medicine and therapy in treating kinds of burns and ulcers. In Indonesia, there are at least 40 hospitals that have introduced this kind of technology. We can say that the medical promotion and development in Indonesia has gone into the fast lane. The following is the detailed introduction.
1.1 On the morning of 3rd March, the provincial training program in Banjarmasin was hosted in the largest governmental teaching hospital – RSUD ULIN Hospital. There were over 100 clinicians from 5 cities attending the training. Dr. Agustina hosted the opening ceremony and Dr. Nia Kania, president of the Physician College presented a mobilization speech. The senior cardiovascular diseases expert Dr. Oentoeng Juwono hosted the training program, which was very successful.
1.2 On 6th March, Lampang provincial training program was hosted in Ambdoel Moeloek hospital successfully. There were totally 70 participants. After the training, Prof. Chen had treatment discussion on a severe burned child with the doctors from the Burn Division and gave the wound management demonstration. It was highly recognized by the doctors and good promotion results were received.
II. Municipal training program is another useful kind of medical promotion.
2.1 On 2nd March, Yogjakarta municipal training seminar was successfully held in PKU Hospital. There were 15 participants from Divisions of General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynaecology and Internal Medicine. Prof. Chen gave the effective training program on regenerative restoration science in situ to some key doctors and helped improve their technology.
2.2 On 8th March Ceribon municipal training seminar was held in Indonesia National Petro Group Hospital. There were 80 participants from local hospitals attending the seminar.
2.3 On 9th March Cibinong municipal training seminar was held in Bina Husada Hospital. There were 30 clinicians from Divisions of Burns, Surgery&Plastic, General Surgery, Dermatology and Internal Medicine of 5 hospitals.
2.4 On 10th March Sidoarjo municipal training seminar was held in Sidoarjo General Hospital. There were 20 clinicians from Divisions of Burns, Surgery&Plastic, General Surgery, Dermatology and Internal Medicine of 8 hospitals.
2.5 On 11th March Gresik municipal training seminar was held in Gresik General Hospital. There were 100 clinicians from Divisions of Burns, Surgery&Plastic, General Surgery, Dermatology and Internal Medicine of 10 hospitals.
III. The “brief, simple fast” hospital training program is also important kind of medical promotion.
3.1 Surabaya hospital training seminar in Soetomo teaching hospital: Soetomo teaching hospital is the second largest hospital in Indonesia as well as a Medicine College affiliated teaching hospital. It covers an estimate of 3000 medical care staff and 1500 ward beds, among which there are 26 in Burn Department.

IV. Academic exchanges with key doctors in order to strengthen their understanding of regenerative medicine and technology. Further more Prof. Chen gave detailed answers to their questions during their clinical practices, which effectively improved their clinical skills and academic level.
V. Training program for distribution company sales staff for medical promotion and development, hospital maintenance, training program and clinician team building.
Indonesia is a new destination for MEBO Group international markets occupying. With more than 2 year’s efforts, MEBO Group International Department has received many good results in medical promotion, academic expansion, technological training, hospitals and medical staff training. At present, local Indonesian clinicians are able to treat successfully over 65% TBSA burns patients, 45% TBSA severe electric burns and kinds of ulcer wounds with correct application of burns regenerative medicine and technology (absolutely without any skin grafting) with satisfactory clinical results. Now the medical promotion and development has been into the key stage. Only with our harder efforts, with the help of routine training programs and deeper training and guidance for key doctors on burns regenerative medicine on treating severe deep burns patients, in next step of our medical promotion in Indonesia, the treatment for over 80% TBSA burned patients will be successful beyond all reasonable doubts. And in the near future, burns regenerative medicine and technology will bloom all over Indonesia!
