MEBO Group Makes a Brand New Start in South Korea

Since 1996, South Korean Hando Corporation and MEBO Group have been enjoying good mutual corporate relations. And MEBO Wound Ointment has been approved and imported by South Korea as the first Chinese pure botanical drug. With more than ten years clinical application, MEBO Wound Ointment has been among the basic burn medicines and used as a formal drug for clinical practices in the four biggest burn hospitals in South Korea. While in the South Korean medical market of ten billion dollars, recently the sales volumes and range of application of MEBO Wound Ointment are both suffering the pain from the bottleneck. In order to improve the situation, at the end of July 2009 Manager Liugang from the International Business Department of MEBO Group and Professor Chen Yongchong, standing committee member of the Chinese Burns Association of the Integrity of Traditional and Western Medicine and deputy director of Beijing Guangming Institute of Burns and Ulcers Research, made an on-the-spot investigation on the local medical market at the invitation from the Hando Corporation.

During the investigation, Manager Liu and Prof. Chen visited many burns hospitals and dermatology departments and held many talks with Hando Corporation and DONGWHA PHARM on the present situation of local medical market and the properties of MEBO regenerative products. The three sides discussed the development plan for future cooperation and especially Hando Corporation showed great confidence in a beautiful prospect of bilateral cooperation. In order to reach an all-win target, all sides made specific implementation plans for further advancement and cooperation.

By the warm invitation of DONGWHA PHARMY, MEBO visiting party were accompanied to visit their newly built pharmaceutical factory. With the large area occupied and toprank mechanization the factory is ranked as the largest drug manufacturer in South Korea. Established in 1897, DONGWHA PHARM enjoys a long history and has more than 900 employees, two large-scale plants and research centers. Before, as out of the good-sale products, MEBO Wound Ointment failed to share the high enthusiasm of DONGWHA PHARM on marketing and promotion. While after this formal visit of Manager Liu and Prof. Chen, DONGWHA PHARM changed their initial ideas about MEBO products and felt confident in the property of MEBO development as well as the marketing operation modes. Further more they expressed great intention to visit MEBO Headquarters and learn Chinese marketing mode for high-tech regenerative products as well as medical supporting experience.

In South Korea, burned patients mainly are admitted by four or five special burn hospitals. While all these hospitals show great respect for regenerative techniques and products. During this MEBO visit, Prof. Chen on invitation paid visits to several burns hospitals and communicated with the local doctors and experts those use MEBO regenerative products in treating patients, and gave them guidance on how to apply regenerative products on extensive burns. Besides, recently many local hospitals started to have trial application of MEBO Wound Ointment in treating kinds of dermatological diseases and good results have been received on treatment of traumas, ulcers and kinds of dermatological diseases. With recent joined efforts by MEBO International Business Department and Hando Corporation, there is a positive trend of clinical application of MEBO products on treatment of patients with dermatological illness except comparatively mature application on burns and ulcers. Both doctors and patients approve the supernatural results of MEBO Wound Ointment and many hospitals recommend patients with MEBO ointment as the top choice drug. Meanwhile in the South Korea Pharmacist Association, many members are very familiar with MEBO products and always discuss their own practice experience on the application of MEBO products on the internal information communication platform. With Prof. Chen’s technical guidance on the application of MEBO regenerative products, it has been great helpful for the local doctors’ understanding of MEBO products and mastering standard use of MEBO regenerative products, which entirely improve the medical level of regenerative technique in South Korea.

Generally, this formal investigation visit has greatly strengthened Three-Party relations and increased their confidence in MEBO techniques and products. We sincerely believe that in the near future, South Korea will be one new luminescent spot among MEBO international medical markets!
