Primary Medical Exploration in Jordan with High Pertinence Gained Good Effects

Jordan is a country in the northwest part of Middle East, bordered by Syria to the north, Iraq to the northeast, Saudi Arabia to the east and south and Palestine to the west. Jordan had a population of about 6 million. 70% of the population distributes in Amman, the capital of Jordan. MEBO Wound Ointment registered and brought in Jordan ten years ago. Especially during the last five years, MEBO Wound Ointment have been popularized and known in Jordan with 95% occupancy rates in pharmacy via the hard work by Jordan business group. In order to make plastic and burn surgeons had more comprehensive understandings and learning about the theory and the practical standard of Burn Regenerative Medicine Science, a series of training courses、 theoretical interactions、 clinical directions and etc are being successfully launched at the major hospitals in Amman under the positive manipulation and unceasing endeavor of MEBO International Business Department and its partner in Middle East. As a result, good effects were gained in the aspects of theoretical exploration, the advancement of management of massive burn injuries and further practical standard and techniques of burn beds.

1. On Jun 9th, 2010, Prof. Chen Yongchong (the Chinese Expert of Burn Regenerative Medicine, Director of Clinical Department of the Chinese Burns Wounds & Ulcers Scientific Center), was invited to the biggest bun center in Jordan------Jordan Health Administer Affiliated General Hospital to conduct activities of theoretical interactions and clinical technique directions. There are 10 intensive burn wards with 15 beds and 18 common burn beds as well as 8 surgeons and 15 nurses in the burn center. Prof. Chen came to the burn center with the accompaniment of Dr. Alaa and Dr. Musbidd (from Julphar Gulf Pharmaceutical Industies) and received warm welcome by the Prof. Mahmoud Bataineh, the chairman of Jordan Society of Burn Injuries and mainstay surgeons in burn center. After mutual regards, Prof. Chen firstly introduced the clinical practical conditions of Burn Regenerative Medicine in P.R China and other countries, especially in the aspect of deep burn injuries with massive surface areas. Then, Dr. Alaa explained the major components and pharmacological mechanisms of MEBO Wound Ointment. Next, Prof. Chen demonstrated the standard techniques of dressing-change at the bedside and provided practical skills and evaluation at the scene. Through this academic interaction, the medical staff in the burn center felt amazing about the new way to the management of burns that was just like opening a new door to the intervention of burns.

2. At the night of Jun 9th 2010, the Jordan National Regenerative Medicine Training and Communicative Meeting opened at the meeting room in Iemeridien Hotel. There were 22 domestic plastic surgeons and 1 plastic surgeon from Palestine participated in this meeting. Dr. Khaldon, the Secretary of Jordan Society of Burn Injuries and the Director of Jordan Military Medical Service Center, hosted the meeting. Prof. Chen presented a lecture, named by ‘Burns Regenerative Medicine and Therapy in Big Burn Treatment’ in which included the skin regenerative mechanisms in situ in the management of deep burn injuries、 the standard management of burn beds、 principles of systematic treatment and etc. By the virtue of the combination of his clinical experience and acknowledgement about the Burn Regenerative Medicine with the characteristics of abundant contents, novelty and easy-understanding, Prof. Chen’s lecture was pretty favored by participated medical experts.

3. In the morning of Jun 10th 2010, Prof. Chen was invited to the Burn Center of Jordan University Hospital (the biggest hospital in Jordan with 650 beds) to carry out the academic interactions and clinical directions. Prof. Samir Jabaiti, the director of Burn Center and Emergency Department warmly welcomed Chen’s visits. First of all, Prof Dr. Samir took Prof. Chen to visit the Burn Center and Emergency Department and give an explicit introduction about the practical status of Burn Regenerative Medicine and Techniques in those two departments. During the visit to Emergency Department， there was a client with burn injuries on head and upper extremities seek for help, Dr. Samir instructed the surgeon on duty to employ the Burn Regenerative Medicine and Technique and MEBO Wound Ointment in the management of the patient’s wound beds that were greatly satisfied by the patient. Then, Prof. Chen conducted academic communications with Dr. Samir in his office for one and half hours. Prof. Chen carefully answered the questions in the terms of deep burn injuries management with Regenerative Medicine Science, ways of infectious prevention, anti-shock therapy on massive burns, family interventions of outpatients and etc. Due to the hospital is a teaching hospital, something about clinical academic study subjects and detailed designs as key points were discussed. The discussions were advancing in an enthusiastic and harmonious phenomenon. Dr. Samir repeated: ‘It is much regretted that we could not meet earlier!’ If they could meet earlier, many clinical study achievements would have gained. He hoped that he would keep in contract with Prof. Chen so that they could treat patients and finish clinical studies together.
Then, Prof. Chen was invited to the diabetic center that is the biggest center to treat DM (diabetic mellitus) in Jordan to have academic interactions. The diabetic foot ulcer department in this diabetic center is the national key disciplinary areas with outpatients between 30 and 60 everyday. Only after short introduction about Regenerative Medicine by Prof. Chen with the head of nursing department, the superior efficacy of Regenerative Medicine was admired by the nursing head. Immediately, the head of nursing department organized the clinical training that was provided by Prof. Chen for ulcer-caring nursing practitioners. Due to practical contents of the training, it was very popular among participating nursing practitioners. Meanwhile, Prof. Chen also encouraged them to develop some clinical studies and have more communications with other hospitals that greatly inspired the participants.

4. At the night of Jun 11th, 2010, the Jordan National Regenerative Medicine Science General Surgeon Training Course was opened at the meeting room in Sheraton Hotel. More that 20 experts majoring in general surgery, orthopedics and dermatology from the chief hospitals in Amman, presented the training course that was host by Dr. Mohammed Elayyan, the National Manager. Prof. Chen gave a lecture with the title of ‘From Burnt Skin Regeneration to Wound Healing’ in which introduced the regenerative mechanisms of Burn Regenerative Medicine Science on skin tissues, the clinical experience of various severe acute traumas and chronic ulcers and the detailed practical techniques. After the lecture, all participants were very inspired and benefited a lot.

Despite duration of the first medical exploration in Jordan is only 3 days, the organization and arrangement of academic interactions and directions was tight which made this medical academic tour with regards to Regenerative Medicine Science employed in burns, traumas and diabetic foot ulcers realized better outcomes. We believe that the business in Jordan would be booming under the continuous scientific support and marketing maintenance.
