Meticulous CME to Promote Development of MEBT/MEBO in Malaysia —report of continued medical education in Malaysia

On 24th March 2012, when most part of china were still in the early spring with chilly temperature, MEBO team has already arrived in Malaysia which has hot weather throughout the year and begin the first round of medical education of 2012. The team was composed of Professor HU who has rich clinical and teaching experience with WANG Yi-fei, Director of General Technical Department. They immediately began the CME based on the plans made by International business, MEBO Malaysia in order to make some breakthroughs in expanding the market.
Northern Malaysia was the target area of the CME in which three private Wound Care Centers and five new Hospitals were visited and meanwhile they also did follow ups in two other government hospitals departments including Orthopedic Department, Burn Department, Gynecology Department and Stomatological Department etc. During the visit, they met more ten major doctors and had consultations for patients with burns, served fingers, diabetic foot and large extensive lacerated wounds. A total of 310 local medical staffs attended the CME which amount to 9 medical training classes.

The aim of the CME was to popularize the fundamentals of HBRRS and to establish new treatment concept for doctors as well as further enhance the principle of standardized SOP so as to tackle the questions and difficulties met during the application of MEBT/MEBO. With the CME, doctors’ confidence in using this new technique will be increased and the indications of the technique will also be expanded. A little change and innovation has been made in the mode of CME this time in which experts and technical support were cooperating to do the training so as to maximum the effects of training with integration of products, theories and clinical experiences.

Training in all the hospitals were very successful with the elaborated preparation and planning of Malaysia team and also the CME in last year. Medical staffs were full of enthusiasm and keen interest on MEBO technique and products and their acceptance and understanding were also improved. Doctors listened carefully and proposed questions actively during the lecture. At the mean time, they also amazed at the magical therapeutic effects of MEBT/MEBO and expressed the desire to witness more amazing cases and learn the standard procedure of MEBT/MEBO in China so that more and more Malaysians will be benefit.

After lecture, Professor Hu and Ms. Wang had in depth exchanges with Directors and Doctors. Many hospitals even invited Professor HU to have consultation for chronic refractory wounds. MEBO team was surrounded by doctors and nurses who want to observe and record the SOP and mean time proposed many relevant questions every time they did the consultation and dressing change demonstration. Every question received patient and compete answer from Professor HU. He also pointed out the cautions and key steps of dressing change during demonstration. All the demonstration was carried in a happy and harmonious atmosphere so that effectively and directly standardized the procedure and improved medical skills.

During the CME, MEBO team also paid a visit to the Directors and major doctors in the hospitals they have visited last year such as Dr. Nurhalizah, Director of Gynecology Department of Central Hospital of Kula Lumpur, and Director Ma, from Central Hospital of Penang and other stomatolgists. Last year, under the instruction of Professor HU these doctors have successfully treated many patients with infected incisions after gynecological surgeries, refractory wounds on maxillofical area and served fingers with MEBT/MEBO and all the patients were cured and discharged in a very short time. Thus they felt the victorious sensation brought by the advanced technology and product. Doctors and Professor HU established deep relationship and cooperation which lay a foundation for further promote the application of MEBT/MEBO in various wounds in Malaysia.

Wound care and treatment is a generalized and difficult subject in medical field of Malaysia. Half of a month medical training was concluded satisfactorily with intensive and orderly arrangement. With the medical training, MEBT/MEBO was further promoted and popularized in the hospitals and wound care centers of Malaysia which breakthrough the bottleneck of wound care. Doctors confidence about using this new technique was totally increased which contribute to the generalized application of MEBT/MEBO in Malaysia.
