The Training Courses of Regenerative Medicine in Jordan Were Welcomed

In order to satisfy the wish that held by many Jordan doctors who want to extensively know and learn Burns Regenerative Medicine (BRT), recently three times of municipal training course on regenerative medicine were held in Amman (the capital of Jordan), Irbid and Zarka respectively after Gulf Pharmaceutical factory (Julphar) responsible for the development and technical management of BRT had actively contacted with local medical societies. Totally 164 doctors and nurses from more than 50 local hospitals participated in the training courses that were greatly welcomed. The details followed:
1. At 8pm, Mar 8th, one municipal training class was successfully held at Le Meridien in Amman. The participants were doctors, nurses and pharmacists from 30 hospitals. Prof. Chen Yongchong (from China National Scientific and Technologic Center for Burns, Wounds and Surface Ulcers gave the presentation concerning regenerative medicine on invitation. The learning phenomenon was dense with participants’ enthusiasm. The Q&A session was ended until 10pm.

2. In the early morning of Mar 9th, 2011, Prof. Chen and his companions headed to Irbid by car that locates 180 km away from Amman.
At 10am, Prof. Chen was invited to visit the burn center of KAUST hospital and discuss with the doctors and nurses. This hospital is the largest comprehensive teaching hospital with more than 800 beds. The burn center has 3 ICU wards and 7 common wards. The annual burn patients are about 150 cases. 70% of them are treated by MEBT/MEBO and gain good outcomes. But for patients with large burn injuries, MEBT/MEBO has not been used. Through this academic exchange and discussion, the confidence was enhanced at some extent to treat large burn case with MEBT/MEBO in future.
At 2pm, Prof. Chen came back to the office of Dr. Eyad Baqain (the director of burn center) once again and discussed deeply with Dr. Eyad in terms of disciplinary development of burn center, the key-point of rescuing large area burn injuries, the implementation of clinical science and research in cooperation and the paper writing.

In the evening, the municipal training class was held successfully in Irbid. 47 doctors and nurses from 20 hospitals took part in the class that took the good effects on the technical training and academic exchange.

3. In the morning of Mar 10th, 2011, Prof. Chen came to the surgery ward of Zarka Hospital in Zarka to conduct academic exchange and training class of regenerative medicine. Zarka Hospital is the local biggest comprehensive hospital where MEBT/MEBO has been using in the treatment of small burn injuries and chronic ulcers for more than 8 years. But it needs breakthrough in treating large burn injuries. The director and the staff paid a ardent welcome to Prof. Chen. During the discussion, they asked Prof. Chen some questions about the situation of using MEBT/MEBO in China, the existing problems. After a short-term talks, Prof. Chen gave a one hour presentation with the topic ‘The standard application of MEBT/MEBO in the treatment of large area burn injuries and various kinds of severe wounds and ulcers and the perfect clinical outcomes’ for 10 surgeons so that the staff can comprehensively and systemically gasp and use MEBT/MEBO. The training increased the staff confidence in treating large burn injuries in the future.  

 
At 2pm, another municipal training course of regenerative medicine was successfully held at the meeting room on the second floor of academic exchange center in Zarka. There were 37 doctors and nurses from more than 10 different hospitals participated. The content in this course was warmly welcomed and the discussion session was flaming. Through this training course, more understanding and manipulation to regenerative medicine were gained by participants. Besides, the encountering problems in clinical practice were solved.
