Latest report from the earthquake stricken area of Ya’an City, Sichuan Province

Since the powerful earthquake hit Ya’an City of Sichuan Province, the affected citizens in Ya’an have always been the concern of all people around China. From the Premier to ordinary rescue workers, all people were trying their utmost to rescue the victims, transport rescue materials and express their concerns and cares towards the victims in Sichuan. MEBO, as an enterprise with “Respecting Life” as the core value and with “Helping All Others” as its main mission, has offered its due help when millions of lives were threatened. On 7am, April 26th, bearing in mind the heartfelt hope of Dr. XU Rong-xiang and the best wishes from all staff of MEBO, a visiting team constituted by Director LI Chun, Medical Administration Office of Traditional Chinese Medicine Administration Bureau of Sichuan Province, LI Cheng-lin, Secretary General of Association of the Integration of Traditional and Western Medicine, JIANG Tao, Section Chief of Medical Affair Section of Orthopedics Hospital of Sichuan Red Cross Organization and QIU Wei-dong, Director of Sichuan Office of MEBO went to the Ya’an earthquake zone from Chengdu, carrying with MEBO Wound & Ulcer Dressings that are in urgent need.

QIU Xiong, President of Ya’an People’s Hospital, LI Xian, Vice President, LIU Ke-qiang, Section Chief of Medical Administration Section, HUANG Li-qiong, Director of Nursing Department and FU Zi-jun, Director of Burns and Plastic Surgery Department welcomed the arrival of the team. President QIU Xiong introduced the rescue situation to the team and the team expressed their heart-felt respect over the achievements and devotion in earthquake relief efforts. At the same time, they presented MEBO Wound & Ulcer Dressing donated by MEBO International Group to the Hospital. President QIU expressed his gratitude to the leaders, the Association and MEBO International Group and appointed right away Director FU Zi-jun to instruct the rescue work by applying these dressings. Accompanied with Director FU Zi-jun, the team visited the Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery of the Hospital and Director FU introduced them the regenerative technology in detail from the perspectives of performing treatment and dressing change standards. Seeing significant clinical effects have been achieved by regenerative technology, the visiting team expressed their respect over the achievements and devotion of Director FU and his medical team. Mr. LI Chun offered his ideas of instruction over the future plan of establishing a provincial-level key office and expressed willingness to help Director FU in realizing the plan. Director FU appreciated all their helps.

In Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, Dr. XU Rong-xiang led a medical team to the epicenter of the affected area to carry out the rescue work using the skin regenerative technology and a total of 152 patients with open traumatic wounds were all cured (small wounds excluded) without amputation. And even the patients thought to be amputated based on previous experience got healed regeneratively and was discharged without amputation. At the meantime, the medical team of skin regenerative technology was responsible for the treatment of all burn victims in the disaster area. The victims with a TBSA of 99% realized regenerative restoration without skin graft, and no death and disability ever occurred. During the earthquake, there were a lot of cases of head skin soft tissue defect caused by bricks and stones falling from the high. To treat them, skin regenerative technology was applied and the defect wounds of a large number got healed regeneratively without skin graft. MEBO regenerative technology and products not only have such advantages as easy-to-operate, practicable and extraordinary therapeutic effects, but also have very high practical value in treating various wounds including extensive ulcer, severed fingertips and etc. even under special conditions such as emergency, accidents affecting masses of victims and poor medical environment, and great therapeutic effects can be realized even under the time-urgent and emergency situation. So, the rescue work carried out by Dr. XU and his team was indeed necessary and timely for the current disaster in Ya’an City.

After expressing sympathy and solicitude in Ya’an People's Hospital, the team accompanied by Director FU Zi-Jun came to Ya’an TCM Hospital. President YANG Hua and Director ZHANG Xue-jin of hospital public relations department warmly welcomed the visiting team on behalf of the hospital. After listening to the introduction of President YANG on the rescue situation, the team conveyed their sincere greeting and respect and moreover presented the regenerative product MEBO Wound & Ulcer Dressing (MEBO Dressing) donated by MEBO International Group to the Hospital; meanwhile, FU Zi-Jun introduced the usage and the do's and don'ts of MEBO Dressing to the related departments and instructed them to apply it properly. Director LI Chun and Secretary General LI Cheng-lin in the team also exchanged with President YANG on the work of TCM Hospital promoted to be a third level one and gave guidance. President YANG Hua, on behalf of the Hospital expressed his heartfelt thanks to the team and MEBO International Group.

One-day visiting activity in the affected area came to an end. The spirits of self-help, optimism and dedication reflected by Ya’an people impressed us a lot. And we believe that the strong Ya’an people, under the support and help of the national people, can undoubtedly overcome difficulties and rebuild their homes. Ya’an, we cheer for you! Come on!
