Medical Promotion Got Fully Activated in Syria in 2010

On the morning of 2nd Feb 2010, the training seminar on the clinical application of burns regeneration medicine and technology in multi-disciplines was successfully held in the academic reporting hall of Damascus Moasa Hospital, which is the largest governmental hospital in Damascus City as well as a teaching hospital of medicine college, covering about 800 ward beds. More over the Burns Center is the largest in Syria, with 22 ward beds. There were totally over 30 clinicians and doctors attending this seminar. The deputy director of Burns Center Dr. Al-Aissami interpreted the Prof. Chen’s lecture. The other day burns medicine and technology accompanied by MEBO ointment were applied in the Burns Center on treating burns patients with good feedback.

On the morning of 3rd,Feb, 2010, Prof. Chen and his team were invited to the Burn Center of Moujtahed Hospital affiliated to the Syria Ministry of Health for academic exchanges and training programs. There were over 500 ward beds in this hospital and 16 ward beds in the Burn Center. The director of the Burn Center Dr. Abed Alkader and other clinicians warmly welcomed the arrival of Prof. Chen and his team. Prof. Chen made the professional introduction of the skin regeneration mechanism and the clinical results as well as the clinical operation standards of burns regeneration technology, which made all the audience a good and useful learning experience. And they sincerely expressed their strong desires to reinforce their study of burns regeneration theories and to accumulate their clinical experience, and they longed for a chance of visit to China for a further learning of this advanced technology so as to apply it practically to the treatment of burned patients. After this academic exchange, burns regeneration technology got the initial application in this center on the treatment of burned patients with small or middle size burns wounds.

On the moon, Prof Chen was invited to the Damascus Dermatology Medical Center of the Health Ministry to give the training programs on regeneration medicine and technology to an estate of 30 clinicians from the Divisions of Dermatology, Diabetes & Ulcers, and Skin Traumas. Dr. Abd Alkarim Almki, the director of the center hosted the training. With his presentation titled the mechanism of skin traumas healing accelerated by regeneration medicine and technology and its clinical application, Prof. Chen introduced his clinical experience of regeneration medicine in treating dermatological diseases and traumas. All the participants learned carefully and with this training they found a much more effective method in treating kinds of dermatological diseases. The training program on regeneration medicine and technology caused great influence in the hospital and aroused the enthusiasm and positivity of the people to learn and use regeneration medicine and technology.

In the afternoon, with the recommendation of Director Dr. Abd Alkarim Almki in the skin center affiliated to the Ministry of Health, Prof. Chen and his team met the chief of the Syria Ministry of Health Dr. Reda Saed. During the meeting, Prof. Chen introduced the advancement and practicability of burns regeneration medicine and technology, and its clinical application situation as well as the nice clinical results in China and other countries to the chief of Ministry of Health. The chief was very interested in the burns regeneration medicine and technology, and hoped to come to China for a field study and visit. This meeting with the Chief of the Syria Health Ministry made the spread of burning regeneration medical technology in Syria easier and prepared for the support from government.

On the morning of 7th Feb, 2010, Prof. Chen and his team were invited to the burn center at Al Kindi Teaching Hospital, to conduct clinical operation guidance and demonstration on performance standards. Prof. Chen did consultation for 4 cases of burned patients and 1 case of diabetic ulcer, and then further regulated the application of regeneration medicine and technology, in the burn center, which greatly helped the advancement and development of the burn center.

On 6th,Feb 2010, Prof. Chen and his team arrived in Aleppo City in the northeast of Syria which is the second largest city in Syria with the population of 2.5 million. There are 3 governmental hospitals and 10 private hospitals, among them were two burn centers. At 9 p.m, the municipal training program was successfully held at the Dedeman Hotel. Doctors from departments of Burns, Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Department of Gynaecology & Obstetrics and Dermatology Department got together and took part in the special lecture titled “The Application of Burns Regeneration Medicine and Technology on Wounds, Burns and Ulcers”. There were totally 45 doctors attending the lecture. This lecture had big effect and all the experts got a new and fresh vision after listening, and considered it quite useful. The lecture did not end until until 11:30 in the middle night.

On the morning of 7th Feb, 2010, Prof. Chen and his team were invited to the burn center at Al Kindi Teaching Hospital, to conduct clinical operation guidance and demonstration on performance standards. On the morning of 8th Feb, Prof. Chen and his team arrived in the fourth largest city in Syria at invitation for academic exchanges and clinical guidance.

At 2:00 pm, the seminar of training program on the clinical application of regeneration medicine and technology in the Cham Palace Hotel of Hama city. There were totally 40 participants in the seminar.

Although, it is short and less than one week for the Syria medical promotion, satisfactory results have been received with effective and tight efforts. With this medical promotion, more and more Syria clinical doctors have got further and more professional learning of the development and application of burns regeneration medicine and technology, which plays a very important in the expansion of application fields of regeneration medicine and technology in extensive burns and kinds of diseases. We sincerely trust that with the continual development medical promotion of regeneration medicine and technology in Syria, there will be more and more patients benefiting from this advanced technology!
