Kevin Xu Participated in the Selection of WTO Director-General

  Kevin Xu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MEBO Group, interviewed a candidate for WTO Director-General, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala from Nigeria, Africa.
 
  Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is a very revered person in Africa. He used to be Finance Minister and Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Board of the Global Vaccination Alliance in Nigeria. As a financial expert, economist and international development expert, she has more than 30 years of work experience in Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America and North America. She has made outstanding contributions in the field of immunization, and has recently been praised for combating the COVID-19 and for winning financial support for WHO to fight the epidemic.
 
  Kevin Xu says that nowadays the WTO is facing great challenges brought about by the economic crisis. All departments of the international organization are looking for candidates, who are familiar with the global governance system and can save the entire trade multilateral system, leading the WTO out of the crisis.
 
  According to WTO regulations, the selection of the Director General is divided into three stages: nomination stage, at which WTO members nominate their candidates; selection stage, at which the nominated candidates meet with WTO members, state their views on WTO-related issues, and reply questions raised by WTO members; finally, the WTO General Council will consult with WTO members to choose candidate.
