Vice Chairman Li Li was Invited to Attend the Annual Meeting of Sister Cities International and the Fourth US -China Sister Cities Conference

　　On July 16-19, the annual meeting of Sister Cities International was held in Houston, the US. And the Fourth U.S.-China Sister Cities Conference was held at the same time, which was co-sponsored by Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and US Sister Cities International. 

 

 

 

　　Ms. Li Li, Vice Chairman of MEBO Group and Chairman of National Rongxiang Xu Foundation was invited to attend the conference and made in-depth exchanges with representatives present in the conference. Mr. Ron Nirenberg, President of Sister Cities International and Mayor of San Antonio, Mr. Xie Yuan, Vice President of CPAFFC, Mr. Li Qiangmin, Consul General of China in Houston, Mr. Yin Chengwu, Minister counselor of the Chinese embassy in the US, and etc. attended the conference and made speeches. Former US President Mr. George W. Bush attended the closing ceremony to present the Annual Contribution Award and also made a speech. 

 

 

　Ms. Li Li in an interview said that under the current international situation, strong commercial cooperation and non-governmental friendly exchanges are still an indispensable force in promoting social development and progress. The theme of this annual meeting of Sister Cities International was “Cities Mean Business” and the theme of the Fourth U.S.-China Sister Cities Conference was “Looking to the Next 40 Years: Stronger Friendship and Closer Cooperation”, from which it can be seen that strengthening friendship and advancing cooperation remain the calling of the times.
