Successful Opening of the 7th Conference of Editorial Committee of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers in Beijing
The 7th Conference of Editorial Committee of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers was held in Beijing from July 27th to 29th of 2013.

At about 9 o'clock on 27th, the Conference commenced. It was hosted by Ms. Zhang Pingping, Director of Editorial Department. And, the guests presented the Conference included Xie Qilin, Deputy General Secretary of Chinese Medical Doctor Association (CMDA), Ms. Ma Yanru, Deputy Director of Editorial Department of CMDA, Mr. Yuan Zhong, Director of China Peking Union Medical College Press, Mr. Ma Fengmao, Director of Chinese Journal of Practical Medicine, Ms. Zhang Xiumei, General Manager Assistant of Beijing Wanfang Data Co., Ltd and the Chief Editor of Digital Library Forum, Mr. Zhang Xiangqing, Standing Deputy Chief Editor of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers, Mr. Xiao Mo, Standing Deputy Editor in Chief of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers, Mr. Xu Tianhe, Deputy Editor in Chief of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers, Mr. Chen Yongchong, Deputy Director of Editorial Committee of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers and all standing committee members and the preparatory committee members.
Mr. Xie Qilin, Deputy Secretary General, was invited to deliver remarks on the opening ceremony. He stressed that Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers plays an active role in the promotion and inspiration of science and technology related to Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers, thus enhancing the ideology of standardization and scientific operation among doctors of grass-root level. He hoped to witness an original magazine, a more unified editor committee and more experts and scholars in the following new committee in order to attract more doctors and to realize better relations between doctors and patients. Also, he looked forward to more help and assistance from CMDA.

Mr. Xiao Mo, the Deputy Editor in Chief, announced the congratulation remarks by Xu Rongxiang, Chief Editor, declaring that all those presented the Conference will be the pioneers of human body organ regeneration science. Therefore, a more rigorous scientific attitude will be necessary in order to stick to the scientific truth and to compose excellent essays related to practical science and to train more and more doctors excellent in human body organ regeneration. Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers will become a mainstream media with the development of human body organ regeneration science. All editors shall show practical results of their own to all peoples around the world on this academic platform and to improve the quality of the magazine. Later, Mr. Xiao Mo said that CMDA included the Magazine into the first group of units to be reformed after the policy about reform of news and press industry was announced on the 18th National Congress of Communist Party of China. So, the Magazine enjoys a sound future. And, all editors shall follow related policies and laws and regulations stipulated by State Administration of Press Publication, Radio, Film and Television, deepen their research into regeneration technology, related knowledge about article examination to improve academic and editing quality of the Magazine.

On the opening ceremonies, all editors for the 7th Editor Committee of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers were awarded. The representatives received the letter from the guests. And all participants gave their warm applause.

On the Conference, there were 13 experts in regeneration field were invited to deliver speech on such fields as current problems, goals in future, management of editor committee, writing and evaluation of scientific essays, latest development of human body regeneration science and humanistic medicine.
Mr. Xiao Mo introduced the development course and the future goal of the Magazine with a theme of "Review and Outlook". Since its establishment on November of 1989, Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers has been providing service to all readers, medical staff and patients to promote burns and ulcer science both in China and around the world. It relieved pains for more than 20 million patients with burns and ulcers. In the future, the principle of publication of national magazines shall be followed. And, the clinical doctors will always be our main readers. The Magazine shall echo the development of publication industry, focusing on the collection and development of multidisciplinary articles, summarizing and exchanging ideas about the latest development of burns, wounds and ulcers, popularizing clinical application of medical technology and giving full play to the advantages of all advanced editing methods about remote article examination, in order to help realize digital journal.

Ms. Ma Yanru provided detailed working requirements for all editors about Responsibilities of All Editors of Magazines Managed by CMDA. The editors shall be those domestic and international experts with high academic achievements who are upright in academic research and rigorous in working style, care about development of journal, work together with editor department to offer ideas, actively plan and compose academic essays, stick to scientific and just principles in examining articles, handle relations between editors, readers and authors and follow the facts rather than considering one's face or flattering officials. The editors shall actively take part in the confirmation and selection of subjects and shall complete the solicit contributions and article examinations of the journal. They shall also help distribute some essays supported by the natural science fund, social science fund and other fund and the Ministries of Provincial level, recommend high quality articles, compose guidance articles, take part in working conference of editor committee, listen to the work report of editor department, offer guidance suggestions and ideas, collect ideas and suggestions from various groups, supervise work of editor department, advertise the journals, help journals get into famous domestic and foreign searching system and seek talents of their own locality and units for necessary recommendations.
In addition, Director Ma also analyzed the evaluation methods, the methods and philosophy of offering ideas by experts.
Mr. Fang Jinyong, Standing Editor of Chinese Journal of Burns, Wounds and Ulcers, introduced the latest research and development of human body regeneration science themed as "Human Body Regeneration Science", declaring that it has become the only one main life science that protects human health and has become the trend of life science development for world developed countries. He also mentioned that human rejuvenation is possible according to the damage speed and repair theory of telomere. The life span can be potentially prolonged. By such theory, human can live for at least 300 years.
Mr. Tang Qianli, Standing Editor of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers and Vice President of Youjiang Medical University for Nationalities, has won 3 Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and one state science and technology support project for the 11th five-year plan. Also, he made contributions to the inheritance and development of the technology. In his speech, he introduced how to compose and evaluate scientific and technological essays by making use of his own experiences and true cases. He also introduced what shall be noted in composing the technical and scientific articles, the summary and the reference literature quoted. He also presented the difference of the research for our discussions.

Mr. Yuan Zhong, Director of China Peking Union Medical College Press, discussed about relations between doctors and patients and how to become a qualified doctor in modern society. In his speech themed as "Harmony between Doctors and Cultures", he summarized what is medical science and he said that modern doctors shall get to know themselves and understand patients, know clearly the relationship between doctors and patients in Chinese cultures, learn how to live comfortably and work happily and how to express and accept different ideas and methods.

Mr. Ma Fengmao introduced experiences about management of 9 domestic and foreign journals and the role of the editors in the development of the journal. He said that editor committee serves as an important part of the journal. To keep quality of the journal, a high level editor committee shall be built. The experts shall objectively examine articles and shall offer their ideas for those withdrawn. Also, they shall communicate with authors to settle necessary questions. The editors shall meet or call experts to inform them about latest events and shall take part in the operation of the magazines.

As the Director of Plastic Surgery and Burns Department and the reviewer of the Magazine, Mr. He Quanyong said that evaluation shall comply with the scientific designs, including control groups and detailed observation index. The results shall be reliable and the conclusions shall be true. The Committee shall train medical staff to focus more on clinical research and science and innovation. And, it is recommended to collect articles from foundation projects, host more trains about composition of medical journals to help more medical staff write better articles.

Mr. Zhao Xianzhong, Director of Burns and Plastic Surgery Department of the Third People's Hospital of Nantong City and the standing editor of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Ulcers introduced in his speech about his own experiences in clinical work and writing skills in composition of medical essays.

Mr. Xu Tianhe, Deputy Editor in Chief of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Ulcers and Director of Chinese Journal of Hospital Statistics, is a well-known expert in statistics in Chinese medical field. He said that there are numerous questions and problems in relation to the statistics. He listed many problems and made analysis and comments over such problems.

Ms. Zhang Xiumei, Assistant of General Manager of Wanfang Data and Editor in Chief of Digital Library, talked about such areas as the development, the level, the core index, advantages and disadvantages. And, she also offered guidance suggestions. At the same time, she suggested new concept for digital publication and a new ways of service and communication between authors, publishers, readers and business partners. She advocated strategic cooperation and other means to upgrade journals, including tracking of hot spots, analysis of latest data, summary of new hot spots and planning of new subjects and collection of information. She also mentioned many things related to authors tracking, basic information of author and articles, and many other things about publications.

Ms. Bu Pingyuan, Head Nurse of Plastic Surgery and Burns Department of Xiangya Third Hospital affiliated to Central South University and the member of editor committee of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Ulcers, summarized that most authors feel difficult to compose articles due to lack of confidence, summary and collection of materials and data. Sometimes, we are not that sensitive to information transmission. The authors shall try to find out topics and materials, the field in which nobody is working for and the contradictions in practice. They also shall be able to find out solutions and summarize and analyze clinical problems for breakthrough. She suggested compose essays after comprehensive research and summary.
Ms. Bu Pingyuan, Head Nurse of Plastic Surgery and Burns Department of Xiangya Third Hospital affiliated to Central South University and the member of editor committee of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Ulcers
Mr. Chen Yongchong, Deputy Director of Editor Committee of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Ulcers and Director of Burns and Ulcers Department of Beijing Nanyuan Hospital, pointed out in his speech that common problems include unsuitable selection of words and less prominent topic. And, the title is too long, the title and content enjoy less connections, the purpose in summary is not clear, the methods are not suitable and the results and conclusions are not correct. Therefore, the author is recommended to pay attention to the above-said questions. He also said that the examination of articles is a process of learning regeneration medicine and standardizing clinical practice of regeneration science as well as the promotion of regeneration science.

Mr. Zhang Xiangqing, Deputy Editor in Chief of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Ulcers mentioned in his speech that we shall try to give full play to the feature of the magazine and improve quality of the magazine. One shall learn more and review what they have learned past, actively help young doctors to adopt new technologies and understand old methods. The current difficulties shall be kept in mind. We shall learn from the facts, grasp opportunities, deepen research and compose articles with higher levels.

After each speech, the representatives would offer their own questions. Through two days' training and academic communication, all presenting the conference learned much and hoped to attend more similar trainings to enhance expertise, offer ideas, improve popularities and develop the magazine.
July 28th, 2013, Prof. Xiao Mo announced the successful closing of the Conference in his final speech.
