Clinical Experts from Indonesia and Thailand Came to China for Study Exchange and Jointly Promote the Clinical Application of Regenerative Medicine

In the afternoon of 18th May, the foreign experts visited the Guangzhou Hospital of Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine Integrity at invitation and were warmly received by the relevant administrators and division directors from the hospital. Guangzhou Hospital of Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine Integrity was one of the earliest hospitals that introduced and applied burns regenerative medicine in clinic, and dedicated to the promotion of regenerative medicine for many years. At present, the hospital covers over 600 ward beds, and will reach up to an estimate of 1000 ward beds in the two years and develop into the biggest hospital of Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine Integrity in Guangdong province. In the afternoon, with the company of Director of Burns Division and the major physicians, the visiting experts went to the ward rooms to examine over 20 burns and wounds patients. During their examination in the wards, deputy commissioner Prof. Wang Hongsheng of the CBAIM gave detailed explanation on the patients’ causes, treatment process, present conditions and treatment in the later phase and one by one answered the questions that they raised. The foreign experts watched and at the same time learned to compare with their cases and accumulate much clinical experience. Then Director Zhang Xiangdong of Burns Division and Prof. Wang Hongsheng introduced the visiting experts with their years’ rich clinical experience on the application of burns regenerative medicine and science in treating burns and chronic wounds, which made the visitors great benefits.

On the morning of 17th May, under the direction of Prof. Wang Hongsheng, the delegation of visiting foreign experts arrived at the People’s Hospital of Heyuan City for study exchanges. All the other high-level hospital administration except the deputy president attended the welcome ceremony. The hospital president gave a detailed introduction about the development of this hospital and the clinical application results of burns regenerative medicine and science since 2003. With the support of municipal government, the hospital moved to the new site in Heyuan development zone in April 2008. At present, with the completion of the first-stage project the hospital covered 600 ward beds, among which were 20 ward beds in Burns Department. And it was estimated after the second and third stage project, it would reach up to over 1000 individual ward beds and the independent Burns Department. After the visit of the hard and soft equipment of the hospital, the visiting delegation was guided by Prof. Wang Hongsheng and Director of the Surgery Department to check and examine 7 burns and wounds patients. Prof. Wang gave detailed explanation and guidelines on the treatment method, which gained satisfactory exchanges effects.

This study exchange activity of Thailand and Indonesian experts to China not only has strengthened the experience exchanges between the experts in China and in the world on their clinical practice of using burns regenerative medicine and science, made the visiting experts see the incomparable clinical results of burns regenerative medicine and science, accumulate much more clinical experience but also has assisted the foreign experts in learning the development experience of section office construction after introduction of burns regenerative medicine and science. Besides, the visiting experts from Thailand and Indonesia also attended the 11th Chinese Congress of Burns Wounds and Ulcers Regenerative Medicine from 20th to 22nd May held in the China Hall of Science and Technology. They listened the excellent speeches given by the experts from China and foreign countries, which made them deeply absorbed by the development achievements of burns regenerative medicine and assisted them with the thorough learning of the clinical treatment experience of burns and wounds regenerative medicine.
