Visit in Mongolia for Promotion of MEBO
Medical Promotion in Mongolia, February 2014
The long winter in Mongolia witnessed the radical increase of patients with frostbite and burns. At the same time, the changes in their dietary structures and living style result in increase of patients with diabetic ulcer. With such clinical demand and at the invitation of Monos Pharma Trade, Ms. Zhang Meiyan from CBAIM and Mr. Zhao Yamin from Marketing Department of MEBO International arrived at Ulan Bator where the outdoor temperature was between 17 to 38 degrees below zero for one-week training. In the afternoon, the details of training were regulated for specific reasons according to our trip arrangement and requirements from hospital. Altogether, we held six trainings for regenerative therapy. The five of them were the hospitals which received their first medical trainings. About 150 staff presented the trainings. The doctors were happy about the treatment results and asked for samples. Whenever they saw the unprecedented efficacy of MEBO, they would ask about application of scar ointment and showed great interest in its application.
Twelve o’clock, February 18th, MEBO team arrived at Shastin Hospital for the first training. This Hospital is the first western hospital in Mongolia. At the beginning, it was named as surgical hospital due to its powerful strength in surgical operation. About 30 surgeons from departments of surgery and doctors from endocrinology departments presented the training which focused on such topics as trauma, operation, diabetic foot and wounds with frostbites. In this hospital, some doctors have already tested efficacy of MEBO in clinical practice and they showed great interest in the training. After the training, some doctors inquired the application of regenerative therapy in spine operations and concerned about the treatment of infections. Zhang Meiyan made detailed explanation.

Ariuka served as interpreter for doctors of Shastin Hospital.
In the afternoon, MEBO staff visited five drug stores, one of them was a small private one, and the other four are chain stores of Monos. Averagely, the sales volume reached about 25 in a month, and there were 26 Monos chain stores with different scale in Ulan Bator.

The picture shows that MEBO is displayed in a drug store named Island whose sales volume ranks No. 2 in Mongolia. MEBO ranks just a little bit lower than a Russian product introduced to Mongolia years ago. However, its price is one fifth of that of MEBO.

The picture shows that MEBO is displayed in a rather large chain store of Monos. The sales volume of Scar Ointment ranks No. 1. And, 10 Scar Ointment and 3 Wound Ointment were sold on that very day.

8:30am, February 19th, MEBO team arrived at burn treatment center. This is the second time for regenerative medicine entering this center. Doctor Gala has gone to China for training and Dr. Batorgil is old friend of MEBO. Ten doctors here are experienced in application of MEBO. The training focuses more on the discussion about systematic treatment and practical clinical problems related to burns. After training, Dr. Gala led MEBO team for a visit of wards section with 80 beds and actually 88 patients. Some beds are arranged in corridor for patients with frostbites. About one third of them are using MEBO. However, governmental budget is limited, some medicine still have to be covered by patients themselves. After visit, Dr. Gala copied slides of Zhang Meiyan and planned to promote regenerative therapy in the country tour this April. Since this hospital is a sample hospital for treatment of burns, many doctors will come for a visit, and doctors working here will also go to other lower level hospitals for lectures. Therefore, we believe Dr. Gala, as a leader in promotion of regenerative therapy in this hospital, will keep promoting influence of regenerative therapy.

Dr. Gala and other doctors listened to lecture attentively.

The medical promotion in Mongolia witnessed more indications of MEBO apart from burns, especially its application on surgeries, trauma and diabetic foot. According to Ms. Zaya, Mongolia is a country that heavily relies on imports. In recent years, the dietary structure of Mongolians changes quite a lot, imported prepackaged food with high sugar, sodium and fat appeared apart from meat and milk products which have long been taken by Mongolians. On the other hand, with the development of economy, people sit longer and drive more. Therefore, people with abdominal obesity are now common, the rate of diabetes increases, and patients with diabetic foot will suffer from amputation due to lack of better treatment. The winters of Mongolia are long and cold. And those who live in Mongolian Yurt enjoy low income and still rely on firewood and coals for heating and cooking. However, Mongolian children are lack of cares, children with burns can be seen everywhere. They usually receive traditional treatment in local hospital with poor conditions. So, they are mostly suffering from scars. Therefore, the training this time focused more on application of Scar Ointment. The doctors showed great expectations after they saw the efficacy. MEBO team can observe their demand and will enhance our work on training about application of Scar Ointment. MEBO will be another beneficiary for Mongolians and will definitely promote the development in Mongolian markets.
