The Promotion of Academic Exchanges on Regenerative Medicine Enjoys Warm Welcome in Malaysia

The regenerative medicine and technology invented by Dr. Xu Rongxiang gains more and more international awareness. At the invitation from the president of Malaysian Society for Burn and Plastic Surgery and Dermology, Prof. Chen Yongchong from the China Burn & Ulcer Technology Center and the marketing people from the International Business Department of MEBO International Group were invited to pay visits to the capital city of Kuala Lumpur and the city of Petaling Jaya. Further more, Prof. Chen was invited to make special lectures on the regenerative medicine and technology and had extensive academic exchanges with the Malaysian experts and clinicians on burn, plastic surgery and Dermology. The scene was passionate and the visit generated a real sensation in the medical and academic fields in Malaysia.

On the noon of 17th April 2009, we came to the Meqah Darby Specialist Group Hospital located in the city of Petaling Jaya on invitation. It is a private group hospital and mainly dedicated to burn and plastic surgery. The academic activities were arranged on 1:00 pm and in total more than 40 clinicians and nurses attended. Prof. Chen made a special lecture entitled “The Application of Skin Regenerative Therapy on Burns, Traumas, Ulcers and Dermatosis”. He divided his lecture into four parts, burns, traumas, ulcers and dermatosis and introduced the features and advantages of regenerative medicine and technology and its superior performance in clinic. All the participants were amazed at the clinical cases and photos. During the academic exchanges, the clinicians and nurses actively raised their questions and Prof. Chen gave detailed answers. The scene was passionate and they expressed their sincere wishes for an early introduction of the advanced technology. Besides, Prof. Chen discussed with Dr. V. Surendranathan, the director of the burn and plastic surgery center of the hospital on certain clinical cases and got his invitation of Malaysian Burn and Plastic Surgery Conference held in the next day in Kuala Lumpur.

On 4:00 pm 17th April, we arrived at the Gleneagles Medical Centre hospital located in Kuala Lumpur on invitation and met with Dr. Allan K C Yee, president of Malaysian Society of Dermology and Dr. Elleen Fong Pek Slew, the burn and plastic surgeon for extensive academic exchanges. After more than 2 hours’ talks, with further understanding of regenerative medicine and therapy, they decided apply this technology in clinic as soon as possible and prepare everything for its promotion in the dermatogic field in Malaysia.

On 18th April, 2009 the Standing Committee Conference of Malaysian Society of Burn and Plastic Surgery was held in Boulevard Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The participants included about 15 key experts on burn and plastic surgery from various states, provinces and cities. Prof. Chen was invited to present a lecture entitled “The chief introduction of burns regenerative medicine and therapy”. In the 30- minute long lecture, Prof. Chen introduced the process full thickness skin burns activate the potential regenerative cells into stem cells and use the regenerative technology of stem cell culture to achieve the skin regeneration in situ. Meanwhile Prof. Chen showed the audience with masses of clinical cases of extensively burned patients. After his lecture, all the listeners were shocked and excited and actively asked questions. Prof. Chen and the MEBO marketing people helped them with the detailed answers. At last, Dr. Peter Wong, president of the Malaysian Society of Burn invited Prof. Chen to attend and give a lecture in the 2010 Asian Burn and Plastic Surgery Conference hosted by Malaysian Society of Burn in the city of Kuching, Malaysia.

Even though this Malaysian visit only covers several days, the academic promotion of regenerative medicine and technology has aroused a wide attention in the medical fields of burns, ulcers and dermatogic diseases in Malaysia. More important, this visit has laid a solid foundation for the progress of academic and technological promotion and medical marketing of regenerative medicine and technology in Malaysia in the near future. The two sides have concluded the intention of cooperation. And we look forward to the benefits of MEBO regenerative sciences to Malaysian people in near future!
