Kevin Xu Attends Panama Roundtable on Connectivity and Innovation
On September 22, 2025, during the United Nations General Assembly week in New York, the Government of Panama hosted a high-level roundtable under the theme “For the Peoples of the Americas: Promoting Connectivity and Innovation.” Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino attended in person and delivered the keynote address. Kevin Xu, Chairman of MEBO Group and former Chair of the APEC Host Committee, was invited as a distinguished guest.
The forum brought together government officials, business leaders, and representatives of international organizations to explore opportunities for cooperation in digital economy, sustainable development, and international philanthropy.
In his remarks, Xu emphasized Panama’s unique role as one of the world’s critical humanitarian relief hubs. He expressed his vision to revitalize this hub through cooperation and innovation, enabling Panama to serve as a central platform for disaster relief, medical resource coordination, and emergency response across Latin America and beyond. Such an initiative, Xu noted, would significantly enhance global disaster response efficiency and strengthen regional coordination mechanisms.
Xu’s engagement in the Americas dates back to 2019, when he paid his first official visit to Panama for high-level consultations on MEBO’s philanthropic and business initiatives. That same year, he took the stage at the Clinton Foundation CGI meeting in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where MEBO International’s new training initiative “Wave of Restoration: New MEBT Training in Latin America” was officially announced, underscoring the company’s long-term commitment to the region.
Building on the success of APEC Peru in 2024, MEBO has since organized the Latin America Regenerative Medicine Technology Seminar series in Peru and elsewhere, advancing academic exchange and healthcare collaboration.
Xu’s participation in the Panama roundtable reflects the growing recognition of his and MEBO’s role in promoting international cooperation and signals new opportunities for connectivity and innovation across Central and Latin America.
