The 20th ISBI Conference was held

 

　　From June 14 to 17, the 20th International Society for Burn Injuries (ISBI) conference was held online. MEBO Group invited more than 30 experts from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, Mongolia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Ukraine and other countries to attend it.

 

 

　　At the opening ceremony, ISBI Chairman Professor Naiem Moiemen delivered a speech. He thanked all the participants and sponsors for their continued support to ISBI. Covid-19 had a huge impact on global health, but it also gave medical academic institutions, including ISBI, an opportunity to review their achievements and reflect on their shortcomings. In the keynote speech at the opening ceremony, a survey on the results of ISBI’s ten-year work was announced. The survey showed that ISBI’s work was well recognized, particularly its efforts in establishing global burn treatment standards and promoting doctors’ learning of burn treatment. 

 

 

　　The conference was divided into two major sections, namely live streaming section and presentation section, displaying the latest treatment experience and clinical results of doctors around the world. 

 

 

　　Dr. James Paul Dumdum delivered a speech, entitled Use of Moist Exposed Burn Ointment on a Scalp Defect Secondary to High Voltage Electrical Burn, in which he shared a case of full-thickness scalp defect patients treated with MEBO.

 

 

　　The title of Dr. Tuya Kh's speech was "Clinical Efficacy of Moist Exposed Burn Ointment in the Treatment of Wound". In the speech, Dr. Tuya Kh shared her experience in treating abscesses, burns, diabetic feet, etc. 

 

 

　　Dr. Nyam-od delivered a speech, titled "Moist Exposed Burn Ointment Application in the Treatment of Cervical Wound and Erosion" for the conference. In the speech, she mainly introduced a randomized controlled trial for cervical diseases led by her. The results showed that the application of MEBO can promote the recovery of cervical wounds and reduce the incidence of infection.

 

 

　　The Regenerative Medicine Forum was held on June 16，at which 2 international regenerative medicine experts were invited to give speeches.

 

 

　　Dr. Youssef Badra from DarAlMal University Hospital in Lebanon gave a lecture - "When No Burn Center is Available: The Lebanese Experience" , in which he demonstrated that MEBO could be used on various wounds.

 

 

　　The title of the other Mongolian speaker, Dr. Nurbol Bakhytkyeryei from Nomun Clinical Hospital was "Results of Moist Exposed Burn Ointment Usage for Treatment of Large Abscess Caused by MRSA). In the speech, he shared a case of treatment of a patient with extensive infection and necrosis. The moist exposure therapy was applied throughout the course. After the wound healed, there was no scar and the limb function recovered well.

 

 

　　Since 2010, MEBO Group has participated in ISBI conferences for 6 consecutive times and become one of ISBI's most important partners. It was the largest sponsor of the ISBI conference in 2016 and 2018 and it once again becomes one of the largest sponsors of the ISBI conference this year.
