On September 9, on the way to Penang, MEBO team visited a diabetic patient. According to Noliza, the patient had diabetic foot ulcer for over two years, previously used MEBO until the wound almost healed, but later on, she cleaned the wound with water during dressing change which caused infection, together with the uncontrolled blood sugar level, the wound deteriorated.

This home visit provided demonstration for dressing change, mainly educated patients and family on the principles of dressing change and blood sugar control. During the demonstration, Diana showed both sons and the patients how to remove the necrotic tissues and keep the wound moist, stressed the importance of proper diet and blood glucose control, and told patient to contact local clinical support in case of any question.

With Dr.Ida’s assistance, Diana perfomed debridement and dresing change demo for the medical staffs in the department. Noliza and other collegues from Triniaire will  follow up with this case!

On Sep 11, at 6:30am, MEBO team flied from Penang to Kuala Lumpur, and then drove to Melaka. Because all the attendants to the CME are doctors, thus the CME mainly focused on the mechanism of MEBO and scientific research. Two of the key doctors came to China in June, they studied the Regenerative Technology, started to use it in the department, and have achieved satisfactory results. After the presentation, Diana Zhang had in-depth conversation with doctors, and learned their difficulties and feedback in application.

The first outpatient had a post mastectomy wound, the second one had an old venous ulcer; the first inpatient was a burn case, while the second one was a truama case that had exposed bone graft. Diana helped the attending doctors consulting Professor Hu about the regenerative therapy for this patient. The CNE in HUKM enjoyed a very high attendance and the nurses were absorbed in the presentation. It can be concluded from the quizes that nurses have mastered the key points of standard dressing change. Dr. Farrah attended the second half of the presentation to show support. After the CNE, MEBO team and Dr. Farrah had a close conversation, and decided to follow up the cases together. In the evening, MEBO team flied from KL to Penang for the CME the next day.

Dr. Nordin, the head of Department and Senior Consultant, visited China in June and studied regenertative therapy, he showed special interest in the micro-skin implantation technology, and applied the technology in his department. In order to reinforce the learning effect, Diana spared sufficient time to illustrate this technology. Dr. Nordin sat in the front row and voluntarily assisted with the translation and presentation. After the presentation, Dr.Ho (assitant of Dr. Nordin) shared their case. The interaction was very active. At the end of the CME, many medical staffs came to the platform to consult about specific indications and cost of MEBO.

With the growth of diabetic population in Malaysia, the introduction of regenerative therapy to Malaysia becomes particularly pressing. MEBO team believes, more and more Malaysian will enjoy the benefits and blessing of regenerative therapy thanks to the opening of MEBO Healthcare SDN BHD and the medical promotion activities.
