Sources from our reporter Liu Zhuo in Beijing – Edmund Brown, Governor of California, U.S.A, paid his first visit to China in his term and led a government delegation of nearly one hundred members in order to promote the commercial communication and cooperation. On April 8th, the delegation arrived in Beijing and hosted a magnificent reception banquet in Grand Hyatt Beijing, representing the start of its 8 consecutive days visit. MEBO International sponsored the event and delivered themed speech. Focusing on commerce and investment, Edmund Brown will sign a series of cooperation and investment agreements during his visits.
About one hundred entrepreneurs and government officials escorted the Governor presented the banquet. They have long been looking forward to the visit to China. It is reported that many forums and banquets during the visits will be sponsored by large enterprises of the United States in an effort to establish the most efficient channel for commercial communication. And, the opening activity held on April 8th was sponsored by MEBO International, a well-known life science company.
Mr. Xu Peng, President of MEBO International and Director of USC Davis School of Gerontology, said that he was born in China and was raised up and educated in U.S., the two countries are both special to him. And, he was very happy that Governor can create such a good chance for deeper communication and interaction of professionals in enterprise management and finance between the United States and China. The Sino-US cooperation in economy, commerce and trade has been well developed. At the same time, multinationals that deal with business in the two countries and increasing. MEBO International is a company that keeps intangible assets, with China and U.S. as its two business centers. The Bay Area Council is responsible for the coordination of the visits by the Delegation. Grub, the Administration Director, expressed that the members in the Delegation include Governor and his wife, officials from the Energy Committee, Tourism Department, Economic Development Department and Agriculture Department. Altogether, there are 96 members escort the Governor. In their visit in China, they will go to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou for forums with corresponding governments and enterprises and will sign several important trade agreements. They believe that their trip in China deserves great returns.
However, what is worth mentioning is that there are many ethnic Chinese entrepreneurs from Los Angeles in the enterprise delegation, including Feng Zhenfa, Executive Vice President of Royal Business Bank, He Meimei, the Accountant and Mr. Xu Jian, President of Singpoli Group. He Meimei said that it is very important for the Government to visit China and she expected more Chinese enterprises to invest in California. Since it dropped to the 8th economic power from the originally 5th one, the California State has long been suffering from high unemployment rate. If it can attract more investment in China, it would be very valuable for both. In the meantime, the Chinese will be more attractive and respectable with the ever increased Chinese enterprises in U.S.
In addition, the Delegation will handle more activities in China, including Sino-Canadian Dialogue for Reduction of Carbon Emission, Discussion with Chinese Non-profit Organizations, Sino-Canadian Trade & Investment Forum and Sustainable Urban Development Forum.
