Continued Medical Education of MEBT/MEBO in Southern Philippines

After the 16th Southeast Asia Plastic Surgery Conference in Boracay, MEBO team with the accompany of local salesmen made the first round of CME in Cebu, Cagayan and Davaos which were three major cites in southern Philippines from 15th-20th March 2012. MEBO team was composed of Professor CHEN Yong-chong, Director of the Clinical Department of Chinese Science and Technology Center for Burns, Wounds and Ulcers, Vice-Director of Beijing Rongxiang Institute of Regenerative Medicine, Vice Chairmen of the Chinese Burn Association of the Integration of Traditional and Western Medicine (CBAIM), Vice President of the Editorial Office of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds & Ulcers and Mr. SHU Ye, Superior of the Product Department of MEBO International Group International Business, Mr Chad, Manager of Philippine agent and Dr. Mark, technical support. Report as follow:
On 15th March 2012, guided by the local salesman, MEBO team paid a visit to some large government and private hospital in Cebu which MEBT/MEBO and other products were trying to be applied. Among the doctors, Dr Mirela is a major one during the training. She is the president of Cebu City Medical Center and has been studied MEBT/MEBO during last June for about two weeks in Sichuan Province, China. During her study, she had a full and in depth understanding about the application of MEBT/MEBO as well as the standard application procedure of this technique. She also actively committed to promote and popularize the use of MEBT/MEBO in the local area. she has arranged Chinese experts to give lectures on the local plastic surgery conference to promote MEBT/MEBO with her personal influence.
At 7:40 pm, regular meeting for plastic surgery in Cebu City was held on time with more than 44 plastic surgeons from different levels of hospitals attended the meeting. The regular meeting took 3 hours to an end during which Professor CHEN Yong-chong gave a lecture regarding the clinical application of MEBT/MEBO and Mr. SHU Ye introduced Moist Exposed Burn Ointment. During the Q&A session of the meeting, doctors had a in depth exchange with MEBO team in term of MEBT/MEBO. In the end, Dr. Mirela concluded that she was grateful for the visit of MEBO team and more appreciated the perfect technique they brought. She also said she had studied in China for two weeks and witnessed the magic therapeutic effects of MEBT/MEBO and many of her patients got recovery with this technique. She was grateful for that journey to China which not only witnessed the enthusiasm of Chinese people but also rich medical cultural deposits.

On 16th March, MEBO team moved to another city: Cagayan De Oro. With preparation, two patients from a private hospital was waiting for the consultation. One was old Ⅱdegree mixed burn ( already got burn for 4 days and received no treatment ) and the other was diabetic ulcer. A total of 10 doctors participated in the demonstration of dressing change procedure.

8:00 pm, MEBO team held a seminar of MEBT/MEBO and its product for local plastic surgeons with 26 local doctors attended the meeting. Q& A part was exceptionally hot doctors had detailed discussion regarding eye burn, micro-skin planting technique etc. The seminar took an hour and a half.

7:00 am, 19th March, MEBO team visited Plastic Surgery of southern Philippine medical center in Davos City. It is the largest medical center in southern Philippine with the popularity second to General Hospital of Philippine. Training session was composed of dressing change demonstration and product introduction with more than 46 plastic surgeons and staffs participation. Doctors had fully exchange in terms of MEBT/MEBO in the treatment of wound with bone exposed, scar and skin cancer. During the demonstration, several patients got full recovery with MEBT/MEBO after this technique was used in this hospital and one of the child’s wound was growing fresh granulation tissue.

8 pm, MEBO team invited more than 44 local nurses and residents from major hospitals to attend the training of MEBT/MEBO. The training lasted one hour with live atmosphere and even Q& A session took one hour. Attendees proposed detailed questions regarding MEBT/MEBO and training ended at 10:30.

On 20th March, MEBO team visited the Surgical Department s of Davaos Davaos Doctor Hospital which is the second large hospital in Davaos. Around 18 doctors attended the training including all chief physicians, attending doctors and residents in Surgical Department. After the training, doctors actively proposed questions such as how to differentiate superficial third degree burn and deep third degree burn, how to do systemic treatment in MEBT/MEBO, how to realize skin rejuvenation and how to treatment scar with MEBT/MEBO. All the proposed questions were fully answered and doctors also asked MEBO team to have consultation for a patient with bedsore. The patient is was 76 years old bedridden patient with diabetes, CVA history. There was a layer of thick necrotic tissue formed on the wound. Professor CHEN demonstrated the skin incision and tension relieving technique as well as bandaging therapy after inquiring patient’s condition.

MEBO team trained more than 188 local medical staffs in the three major cities of Philippine and visited 16 major doctors as well as having consultation for 6 patients and held 6 trainings in the hospital ( tree were municipal, three were hospital training) in just a week. With the visit, application of MEBT/MEBO in Philippine especially southern Philippine was fully consolidated. We believe the concept of using MEBT/MEBO in various wound treatment will undoubtedly have long term impact on Philippine medical fields.
