Regenerative Medicine Was Enthusiastically Pursued in the 3rd International Conference of Saudi Association of Plastic Surgery & Burns

From May 3rd to 5th 2011, the 3rd International Conference of Saudi Association of Plastic Surgery & Burns was successfully held at King Abdul-Aziz University Medical Research Center in Jeddah, the second biggest city in Saudi Arabia. More than 120 plastic surgery and burn experts from British, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Lebanon, UAE (United Arab Emirates), Qatar and Saudi Arabia attended this conference. Prof. Chen Yongchong (Clinical Director of China National Science & Technology Center for Burns, Wounds and Ulcers was invited to give the specific report concerning regenerative medicine in the conference.
At 3pm on May 3rd, ‘The New Development of BRT in Burns, Traumas and Ulcers Treatment’ was given by Prof. Chen Yongchong. In the 30min report, Prof. Chen introduced: i. the developing history of burn management; ii. the clinical efficacy of Burn Regenerative Medicine and Therapy in the treatment of large and deep burn injuries, severe traumas and refractory ulcers; iii. clinical studies of keratin-19 stem cells in in situ regenerated skin tissues and organs; iv. therapeutic key-points of wound and systemic treatments of Burn Regenerative Medicine and Therapy. The content of report in combination with clinical efficacy (practice) and stem cell research (theory) is novelty that explains the amazing regenerative medicine in a way more popular and easier to be understood and accepted.
After the end of Prof. Chen’s lecture, many participants put their concerns on the table and called for deeper instructions about the detailed procedures and cautions of clinical application of regenerative medicine. After the end of the conference, not a few experts followed Prof. Chen to the outside of meeting room, required the material of regenerative medicine, continuously sought advice and discussed about the application and research of regenerative medicine. Prof. Chen patiently gave the answers one by one. Sincerely speaking, regenerative medicine was enthusiastically pursued and became the most popular technique in this conference. In another words, the lecture succeeded in this conference exerted the positively promoting effects in the worldwide development and popularization of regenerative medicine.
