The Proposal of Establishment of a Science of Life Science by Li Shen_ming, Vice-President of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

‘Practice Development and Theoretical Innovation’-the series of book of Peking University Marxism theory published recently, includes one article called ‘Marxism and Life Science’, written by Li Shen_ming, the Vice-President of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in which writer proposed that it should focus on and strengthen the studies of life science, in particular the studies of human body life science, and establish the science of life science that is independent of natural science and social science.
The article pointed out that human body life science, and even life science is a science that is much more complicated than natural science. It should encourage the contention of a hundred schools of thought in the scientific study, but not set up restricted zone with blindness and refuse to make progress.
Up to now, there are two classifications with widespread acceptance to sciences by people: natural science and social science (also called the Humanities in western world). But the writer thought, both natural science and social science are lack of the integral and systemic studies to life, including the studies of human body, in particular the deficiency of the special knowledge to the realization and recognition of human body, this is to say the deficiency of integral ‘a science of life science’.
It was proposed in this article that if it could establish a science of life science that is independent of natural science and social science. The writer believed, if the establishment of a science of life science were feasible, then microbiology, botany, zoology, human physiology, psychology, Chinese and Western medicine and etc could be detached from the system of natural science and be grouped into the science of life science.
The writer took ‘Human Body Regenerative Restoration Science’-written by Mr. Xu Rong_xiang as an example, pointing out that the past traditional studies on human body mostly concentrated upon the paragenetic life bodies with nature in natural science that study on the natural life activities of human from the embryo to the death and the acquired foods and nutrition. Whereas, ‘Human Body Regenerative Restoration’ focuses on the studies of the human regenerative potential after birth and the regenerative nutrients that are requisites for the exertion of the human regenerative potential, it is the new scientific system in the study human body regenerative restoration.
