China News: China Originality of Skin Regeneration Medical and Academic System in situ from Stem Cells Have Achieved Clinical Popularization in China

The opening ceremony of the 11th Chinese Congress of Burns, Wounds and Ulcers Regenerative Medical and Academic System

China News 21st May China News reporter was informed today from the 11th Chinese Congress of Burns, Wounds and Ulcers Regenerative Medical and Academic System that the great research achievements of our China’s originality--- the induction of somatic cells into stem cells in situ to clone skin organs have completed domestic popularization in the hospitals of China. And an estimate of 180 experts on burns and ulcers treatment from all over China and 13 clinical doctors from Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia have evaluated 20 cases of burns recovery stars with burns, trauma defects, broken/lost fingers, diabetic ulcers, arterial ulcers on lower limbs and so on, who were treated with regenerative medical and academic system with excellent results. All these patients serious injured with burns and ulcers now appeared on the platform of the conference opening ceremony as normal people without any disability and showed all the participants the unique and excellent clinical effects of the medical and academic system of the induction of somatic cells into stem cells to clone skin organ and limbs. The attendant foreign experts also presented reports on their clinical experiences of using the medical and academic system of the induction of somatic cells into stem cells to clone skin organ in treating burns and ulcers patients and very good clinical results had been received.

The medical and academic system of the induction of somatic cells into stem cells to clone skin organs and the clinical application achievements were created by the Chinese life scientist Prof. Xu Rongxiang. In 2000, the book—the Medical and Academic System of Burns Treatment published by the Chinese Burn Association of the Integrity of Traditional and Western Medicine (CBAIM) the first time announced the research report on the medical and academic system of the induction of somatic cells into stem cells in situ to clone skin organs and tissues and more over released in details the clinical application regulations. From then on the popularization of this advanced medical and academic system was initiated all over China and nearly 50 countries in the world introduced this medical and academic system for clinical application.

Prof. Luo Chengxiang from the 3rd Hospital of Hunan Xiangya told reporter that one year after the announcement of this medical and academic system achievements, we successfully proved the clinical results of this medical and academic system on exposed burns. At present, in our hospital, this medical and academic system is used as routine therapy in treating large and deep burns, diabetic ulcers and other kinds of traumas. With this medical and academic system, the patients are suffering less pains, can be healed with less disability while with less treating costs. Prof. Zhao Zhenzhong from the 3rd Affiliated Hospital of Nantong Medical College said that in our hospital this medical and academic system has been used in treating near 1500 cases of large and deep burns, diabetic ulcers, bedsores and venous ulcers on lower limbs with almost no disability. And further more, the treating costs for a large burned patient is only 10% of the costs of traditional treating therapy.

Chairman of the CBAIM Prof. Xiao Mo said the medical and academic system of the induction of somatic cells into stem cells in situ to clone skin organs and tissues is developed from Prof. Xu Rongxiang’s originality—Moist Exposed Burns Therapy. Prof. Xu has discovered the laws during the process of the induction of somatic cells into stem cells to clone skin organs and then established the much more detailed clinical application regulations of stem cells culture in situ for skin regeneration. In 1989 the Nation Ministry of Health began to promote and popularize this medical and academic system in China and the data shows that there have been at least 43 million cases patients at home and abroad. Prof. Xiao added that at present, the concept of stem cells is hotly speculated in the world but with no success of the induction of somatic cells to stem cells yet. It is only in China that the induction of somatic cells into stem cells is achieved. We have not only proved but have already used in clinic for more than tens of years in the hospitals. The right to speak, the copyright and the patent rights are owned by Prof, Xu Rongxiang. That is to say that the present internationally advanced life science achievements are owned by our Chinese.

Prof. Zhang Xiangqing, the deputy chief editor of the Chinese Journal of Burns, Wouns and Surface Ulcers, the senior burns expert of PLA general said that all the data show that before Prof. Xu Rongxiang announced his research achievement of the induction of somatic cells into stem cells, there was no body in the world that raised this concept. And more over no body gave any report on research achievements or clinical application. At present, stem cells research of life science returned to speculate the concept of the induction of somatic cells into stem cells after the failure on speculation of embryonic stem cells research. Nowadays we have promoted and popularized this medical and academic system all over China and it makes all our Chinese proud of our development speed on life science. In 1989, the initial issue of Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers was approved officially by the National Science Committee. Up until now, the Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers have published over 2200 clinical papers on burns, traumas and broken/lost fingers treated with stem cells regenerating skin organs in situ. And more over, the Journals are also published internationally.

The data indicates that the CBAIM successfully hosted the first Chinese Congress of Burns, Wounds and Ulcers Regenerative Medicine in 1988 and in 1989 the National Ministry of Healthespecially found the Burns and Traumas Science and Technology Medical Center, which composed the medical network with local hospitals for burns and ulcers treatment and in very short time the difficulty in burns and ulcers patients treatment was resolved. In 1990, the gas explosion happened in Thailand and Thai government asked for assistance to Chinese government. And then Prof. Xu was sent to lead a medical team to save the patients in Thailand. With Prof. Xu and his team efforts, the burned patients were all healed with no disability. When the King of Thailand met with deputy commissioner Liao Hansheng, he expressed his sincere thanks to China government and Chinese people that Chinese government sent their best doctors to treat his people and received very good treatment results.
