Medical Development and Maintenance Performance Moves Stably in Malaysia
From 1st to 25th April 2010, the new round of medical development performance in Malaysia was initiated in the six states and cities. Accompanied by MEBO Group Chief Finance Administrator Ms. Li and Malaysian regional manager Mr. Xu Chong, Prof. Chen Yongchong Clinical Division Director of China Burns & Ulcers Research Center and Device Director of Beijing Rongxiang Institute of Regenerative Medicine, Deputy Commissioner of Beijing Branch of the Chinese Burn Association of the Integrity of the Traditional and Western Medicine (CBAIM), Deputy Dean of China Burns & Ulcers Magazine was invited to give training programs on burns regenerative medicine, academic exchanges, clinical guidance for burns and ulcers cases in many governmental and private hospitals. Further more Prof. Chen held discussions with the directors and presidents of these hospitals on clinical research development and burns and ulcers regenerative healing centers. Prof. Chen’s visits were highly welcomed by the clinicians, nurses as well as the patients. In the 25 days, there were totally 8 training seminars held and 7 academic exchanges activities performed; more than 300 clinician and nurses from Divisions of Burns, Plastic Surgery, General Surgery; Orthopedics given training programs on regenerative medicine; 3 regular local hospitals receiving effective technical maintenance and reinforcement; 3 new big governmental hospitals and 2 private hospitals adopting regenerative technologies as routine therapy; 1 new basic treatment center with regenerative technology and products built for serious cases consultation and treatment. More over, Prof. Chen attended the clinical guidance and consultation for 10 cases of burns ( 4 cases of serious burns), 11 cases of traumas, 15 cases of chronic ulcers, 3 cases of scars, and 2 cases of dermatosis. Fine results had been received on this medical development and maintenance as well as further clinical application regulation.
I. Remarkable results were received on burns center construction, medical care staff training, clinical cases consultation and media coverage organization in the key hospital ---- Hospital Sagai Buloh of Malaysian health ministry.
For this medical development and maintenance performance, the technical support and assistance were focusing on the further regulation of the clinical application of burns regenerative technology in the newly constructed Burns Center. Prof. Chen was in charge of this technical support. Assisted by with Dr. Salina, director of the Burns Center, Prof. Chen gave systematic and general clinical training on burns, ulcers and scar treatment with regenerative medicine and technology, held clinical cases discussions, clinical consultation guidance and on-site demonstration to the 16 medical care staff from the center. Meantime, Prof. Chen met with Dr. Khalid Ibrahim, president of the hospital and introduced the features and advantages of burns regenerative medicine and technology created by Prof. Xu Rongxiang, the clinical application results after decades’ clinical practices, and with his own experience, Prof. Chen introduced his practice in successfully constructing burns centers in many hospital in foreign countries. Besides Prof. Chen had further discussion with Dr. Khalid Ibrahim on the burns center construction and they reached the agreement on the development direction and targets for the Burns Center. President Dr. Khalid Ibrahim expressed that they would introduce the internationally advanced burns regenerative medicine and technology as the development foundation of the center and give the most efforts on the construction and development of the center.

On 9th April 2010, the day-long training program was held in the governmental hospital of Kuala Terengganu State, which was helpful to the general appicaltion of regenerative medicine and technology in trauma treatment field. Hosted by the Director of Orthopedics Division, Dr. Tazudin, the training was composed by two parts: firstly, Prof. Chen gave the training lecture on standard clinical application of regenerative medicine and technology; secondly Dr. Farid, clinician of the Division introduced his own experience of using regenerative medicine and technology in trauma cases treatment. There were total 60 medical care staff attending this training and after the training, Prof. Chen gave clinical cases consultation and wounds management demonstration, with good results.
III.
On 14th and 20th April 2010 respectively, the training programs for nurses from Surgery Division and clinicians from Burns & Plastic Surgery Division of Malaysia University Hospital were held in the terrace classroom and in the teaching and research office of Surgery Division. The training for nurses was hosted by the Director of Medical Care Division Ms. NG Mooi Eng and there were totally 60 surgery nurses attending. And the training for clincians of Burns & Plastic Surgery Division was hosted by Dr. Alizan, director of Burns Division. There were over 20 clinicians from Burns & Plastic Surgery Division and Traumas & Orthopedics in the training. During the training, excellence speeches and clinical cases demonstration were arranged and highly received by the participants. After the training, Prof. Chen was invited to pay visits and give clinical guidance in the university libraries. At Prof. Chen’s report on the initial design of further scientific research efforts, everybody was excited and sincerely hoped that the clinical application research could be initiated as soon as possible. And they would give the report of research results to the national health ministry so as to lay the strong foundation for the further promotion and application of burns regenerative medicine and technology in Malaysia. The two training programs were very helpful for the standard application of burns regenerative medicine and technology in local hospital and for the treating level for burns patients.
IV.
On 15th April 2010, the training program was held in the teaching and research office of Hospital Sultanah Aminah (the biggest hospital locally) to surgery clinicians and nurses. Dr. Thirumal Manickam hosted and Prof. Chen delivered the speech titled From Burnt Skin Regeneration to Wound Healing. There were over 60 clinicians and nurses attending this training and after Prof. Chen gave clinical cases demonstration, receiving significant results.
V.
On 21st April, the training program was held in the teaching and research office of the governmental hospital of Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru to over 60 medical care staff from Traumas and Surgery Division. During the training, activities of cases discussion and wound management demonstration were arranged. And according to the situation that the hospital adopted many cases of broken/lost finger, Prof. Chen had discussions with division directors on the design of broken/lost finger regeneration clinical control study. With Prof. Chen’s professional guidance, all the medical care staff from the Orthopedics Division and more importantly Prof. Chen raised their strong interests in scientific research. This medical promotion performance was ended with good results.
IV.
On 23rd April, the training program and academic exchanges on burns regenerative medicine and technology was held in the teaching and research section of Kuala Lumpur Central Hospital (the largest hospital in Malaysia). Dr. Normala, director of Burns and Plastic Surgery Division, hosted this training. There were over 20 burns, plastic surgery and traumas experts attending the training. Prof Chen was invited to give lectures on the skin regeneration mechanism of burns regenerative medicine and technology, clinical technical regulation and the application of burns regenerative medicine and technology in multiple disciplines, which greatly invoked the participants’ interests in learning and played a strong foundation for the further promotion of burns regenerative medicine and technology into the two largest hospitals in Malaysia.
VII.
All the other kinds of training programs and academic exchanges received good effects in technology promotion and application regulation.
VIII. Conclusion
This visit to Malaysia on medical promotion received very good results, especially the promotion in the new local hospitals. The technical maintenance, acceleration and enhancement in regular hospitals were also very fruitful. The efforts in many important hospitals on design and construction of burns centers and the media propaganda arrangement were both ended with very good effects on further medical promotion of burns regenerative medicine and technology into every local hospital, every clinic and community medical service centers to make more and more burns and traumas patients get the good clinical effects of Prof. Xu Rongxiang’s creation --- Burns Regenerative Medicine and Therapy.
