First, MEBO delegation met with her agent in Syria—Arabian Center, and on behalf of President Xu Rongxiang, Ms. Sun gave praises to their efforts and contribution to the development of MEBO in Syria. 15 years ago, owing to bilateral joint efforts, MEBO Wound Ointment became the first Chinese drug imported by Syria as well as the first Chinese drug in the Middle East areas. While with years’ development, MEBO has been a well known drug name locally and enjoying high popularity and good reputation, which was inseparable with the three sides’ joint efforts.

During the visit, MEBO delegation held formal meetings with Maatouk Group (UNIPHARMA). Maatoul Group is the authorized manufacturer and distributor of MEBO products in Syria. As the biggest pharmaceutical company in Syria, Maatouk Group covers nearly one fifth of the general medicine marketing shares including all kinds of drug categories. After several days’ discussion and exchanges, MEBO delegation and Maatouk Group reached an agreement on the following aspects: on the original basis, the bilateral cooperation entered a new stage of strategic development. MEBO Group was not only the product supplier, but also was an important strategic partner of Maatouk Group. Routine meetings should be arranged for both high-level administrators for discussion and establishment on managing modes. From now on, Maatouk Group would be assisted by MEBO Group to advocate a general managing mode of medical and technical promotion on its mature OTC market. This kind of managing mode was the copy of domestic experience and practice, which required routine academic training program and promotion, timely rescue and consultation for serious patients. Further more, detailed talks were made on the issues of new products registration.

As the earliest introducer of MEBO product into Syria, Maatouk had been in the smooth development while without any big breakthrough in sales. MEBO visiting delegation put forward sincere hopes that with this high-level trip, MEBO development in Syria would be on the direction of round strategic cooperation and medical promotion. Just as what the first deputy president of Maatouk Group, Issam Maatouk, said that MEBO Syria should be coordinated with MEBO to infuse new energy and new strategic factor to realize the great new jump and development in the future!
